About

bravadobe_v1-1Bravadobe Dobermanns is situated in Western Australia in the Swan Valley wine growing district on a beautiful three and a half acres, nestled against Suzannah Brook.

Bravadobe Dobermanns is a breeder of and home to Supreme and Grand Champions, Multi Best in Show and Best in Specialty award winning Dobermanns, but most of all they are our beloved companions. We only ever have a small number of Dobermanns residing at home at any one time, as this ensures that they become part of the family rather than a kennel dog. Many of our Dobermanns have found loving homes around the country and overseas and are competitively shown and trialled with a great amount of success.

Bravadobe Dobermanns have bred 59 Australian Champions, 1 Dual Australian Champion, 4 Supreme Champions, 9 Grand Champions, 3 New Zealand Champion  and 3 American Champions, one of which became the first and to date only Australian Bred Dobermann to win an All Breeds Best in Show in the USA. In addition, Bravadobe Dobermanns was the breeder and co-owner of the last Australian Dobermann National Best in Show winner “Keno”, Supreme Champion Bravadobe Pure Anarchy (AI) ET WAC which was handled by Bravadobe’s Nichole Whyte. We have been recognised consistently by Dogz Online (Australia’s national premier point score) who have awarded Bravadobe Dobermanns Australia’s Number One Dobermann Breeder of the Year award four times, runner up three times and Australia’s Top Utility Dog Breeder twice over the past decade.

As well as taking out top awards in the show ring, we are also very proud that some of dogs are performing duties as service and therapy dogs and that our breeding has also been recognized for their fantastic aptitude in the working arenas such as obedience, tracking, endurance, temperament and agility with over 49 working titles, including the prestigious Register of Merit (ROM).  ROM titles are only awarded by the National Dobermann Council of Australia and are the ultimate achievement for a Dobermann and means that the Dobermann has earned an Australian Championship, a minimum of one working title and passed the Dobermann temperament test, proving that they are the all-round well balanced Dobermann … conformation soundness and beauty, trainability and brains and a stable temperament.

Nichole, a licensed conformation specialty judge has also owned, campaigned and titled 7 other Dobermanns under other kennel prefix’s to Supreme Champion, Grand Champion and Australian Championship titles.

Bravadobe Dobermanns foundation bitch “Chilli” (Grand Champion Tornadobe Ruby Tuesday CD ROM) was the top show bitch for WA in 1997, 1998 and 2000, as well as being awarded the prestigious award of Dobermann Club of WA Inc (DCWA) Dobermann of the Year in 1998. ”Chilli” was a multi Best in Show and Best in Specialty Show winner and was the first Grand Champion Dobermann bitch in WA, as well as the first brown and tan bitch in Australia to obtain such a title. She was retired from the show ring at four years of age and spent the rest of her years as the “Queen of Couch Potatoes” overseeing and keeping a watchful eye over the young Bravadobe babies. “Chilli” has produced numerous champions including a grand champion for us, being the stunning Best in Show and Best in Specialty Show winning bitch, “Brandi” (Grand Champion Bravadobe Bed Of Roses WAC). “Brandi” was the number one Dobermann in WA under the DCWA “Top Show Dobermann” competition for 2006, Pedigree’s Top Utility Dog for 2006 in WA and only the second bitch to gain grand championship status in the state.chillihead

Another significant contributor to the success of Bravadobe Dobermanns was our beloved “Chase” (Grand Champion Dassin Cut To The Chase) who was sired by the incredible American Champion Winmar’s American Gigolo Dassin (Imp USA). “Chase” had established himself as a consistent challenge, best of breed and best in group winner in the show ring and obtained his Championship title in fine style by going Best In Show at the Ladies Kennel Club in September 2002 at 16 months of age. “Chase” went onto to become a multi Best in Show winner at All Breeds Championship Shows as well being awarded Best in Show at the 2004 DCWA Specialty Open Show. In 2002 ”Chase” also won the DCWA Inc awards for “Best Show Dobermann” and “Best Up and Coming Dobermann” and thereafter was awarded “Top Show Dobermann” by the DCWA Inc for 2003 and 2004, equaling the record of three consecutive years. He was also Pedigree’s Top Utility Dog in Western Australia during 2004 and was awarded more best in groups than any other utility dog throughout the year. On the 27th of March 2005, “Chase” obtained his last required challenge points to obtain his Grand Championship title. “Chase” is the sire of multiple champions, including three grand champions and Best in Specialty Show award winning progeny. His legacy will live on in the outstanding kids he produced such as our very own beautiful girl “Bliss” (Champion Bravadobe Divine Destiny), and multiple best in show and specialty winner “Cruise” (Grand Champion Bravadobe Fire At Will) who was the number one Dobermann in WA for 2007 as awarded by the DCWA.

“Chase’s” daughter “Paige” (Australian Champion & New Zealand Grand Champion Cimbria Its All About Me) was kindly given to us by Brett Christie not long after “Chase” passed away. Arriving at our home at 17 months of age, “Paige” gained her title in less than two months with her final points being obtained after winning Best in Specialty Show at the NSW Dobermann Club Championship show under breed specialist and DPCA President Dr Sam Burke. She was handled to perfection and to her title by our close and dear friend Christine Moore. Since then, “Paige” has made the trip across the ocean to team up with Samantha Hedges of Parima Dobermanns in New Zealand and in less than two months the team was awarded a Best in All Breeds Show, Runner Up Best in All Breeds Show and multi Best in Groups to obtain her New Zealand Championship title. “Paige” has since gone on to become a multi Best in Specialty Show winner, being awarded Best in Show under breed specialist Chris Sykes (Australia) at the 2006 Dominion Doberman Club Championship Show. 2008 saw the arrival of “Paige’s” beautiful daughter “Halo” (Parima Its Front Paige News At Bravadobe (AI) IMP NZ)  imported from our good friend Samantha Hedges. “Halo” is sired by one of the breed legends, “Eddie” (American Champion Cambria’s Cactus Cash), the all time top producing sire from the USA.

“Phoenix” (Champion Bravadobe Voodoo Magic) was an outstanding large male who was awarded his first Best in Show at the age of 16 months.  The result of a long awaited line breeding between Chase (Am Ch Winmars American Gigolo Dassin – brava2Imp USA) and our multi best in show winner “Diva” (Champion Dassin Diva Las Vegas), “Phoenix” success as a youngster continued with his award of Challenge Dog and Runner Up Best in Show at the 2007 Dobermann Club of Queensland Specialty.  “Phoenix” was also awarded Best in Group at the 2007 Winter Festival under international judges and continued on to become an all breeds multi best in show winner. One of “Phoenix'” show career highlights was being awarded Best in Show at the 2010 Dobermann Club of NSW Specialty by breed specialist judge Mrs Judith Brown from Brimor Dobermans in the USA over an entry of 159 Dobermanns. With the fantastic pedigree that “Phoenix” has behind him, he enjoyed the same success in the show ring as his parents and has become an integral part in the future of Bravadobe Dobermanns. “Phoenix” was loved and cared for by the Luxford family and has produced champion progeny with numerous others well on their way to their titles

We can not thank our good friends from Dassin Kennels, Christine Moore and Roy Mallinder enough for giving us the opportunity to utilise Chase (American Champion Winmars American Gigolo Dassin – Imp USA) in our breeding program. Chase is undoubtedly the best credentialed Dobermann to land on the Australian shores and who at limited stud sired over 30 champions, 4 grand champions and 9 best in show winners.

“Kaos” (Champion Bravadobe Pure Kaos (AI) ET) won her first challenge just into the minor class and was awarded challenge bitch from the puppy class at the 2007 Perth Royal Show and who along with all her litter mates obtained their championship title before the age of 16 months. Even before “Kaos” turned one she was a multi class in show winner and continues to catch the eye of the Australian and international breed specialists winning puppy in show at the DCWA 2007 specialty held in September and then went onto win the puppy bitch class at the 12th Dobermann National in Melbourne in November 2007, only to be beaten for puppy in show by her brother “Keno”. “Kaos” is the result of an artificial insemination by “Miles” (American Champion Wyndems Knights Quest), who we imported semen from the USA due to his amazing pedigree and health statistics, out of “Bliss” (Champion Bravadobe Divine Destiny). Heavily line bred on one of the breed’s greats, American Champion Rhady’s Sail The Seven Seas, “Kaos” was a significant contributor to the breeding program and ongoing success of Bravadobe Dobermanns, producing multiple champions, all breeds best in show winners and our first Register of Merit (ROM) Dobermann.brava4

“Keno” (Supreme Champion Bravadobe Pure Anarchy (AI) ET WAC) has proven himself as a consistent winner under both Australian and International specialty judges and has won Best in Show awards at both All Breeds and Specialty Championship Shows. His awards include Best Puppy in Show at the 12th Dobermann National under breed specialist Ms D Butler (UK), Australia’s number #1 Dobermann Puppy for Australia in 2007, awarded challenge dog at the 2008 Perth Royal Show by breed specialist Mr L Silva from Brazil and at the Dobermann Club of WA’s 2008 Speciality “Keno” won challenge dog and runner up best in show under Mrs E Ribas Silva from Charleston Dobermanns in Brazil. “Keno” has also received several invitations to Western Australia’s gala event, the Contest of Winners, however the highlight of this amazing dogs career came in April 2010 when “Keno” was awarded Best in Show at the 2010 Australian Dobermann National over an entry of 186 Dobermanns from around the country under international breed specialist Mrs D Young from Darwin Dobermans in the USA. “Keno” continued his winning ways through out the year when he was awarded Best in Show under UK specialist/breeder judge Mr N Naylor at the Dobermann Club of WA’s championship show and was awarded Australia’s number #1 Dobermann at Breed level nationally for 2010 in addition to taking out the Dobermann Club of WA’s Top Show Dog award. 2011 was also another amazing year with All Breeds Best in Show wins, Challenge Dog and Runner Up in Show at the Dobermann Club of NSW’s specialty judged by Mrs P Hastings (USA), Best in Show at the Dobermann Club of WA’s speciality judged by Mr M Yates and saw 2011 out as Australia’s number #1 Dobermann at Breed level nationally. “Keno” is co-owned, conditioned, loved and cared for by our close friends Jason, Shelley and Chase Wildman.

One of our other shining stars is “Savvy” (Supreme Champion & Neuter Champion Bravadobe Achtung Baby ET) a stylish and cheeky girl who has a zest for life and does everything at a hundred miles an hour. “Savvy” is sired by “Klaus” (Champion Bravadobe Rebel Assault) and her dam is the gorgeous Best in Show and Best in Specialty Show winning bitch, “Brandi” (Grand Champion Bravadobe Bed Of Roses WAC). “Savvy” is the result of a long awaited line breeding on her grandmother and our foundation girl “Chilli” (Grand Champion Tornadobe Ruby Tuesday CD ROM) achieved her title by being awarded Runner Up Best in Show at 13 months of age and was Australia’s #1 Rising Star for the breed in 2008. In 2009 “Savvy” was Australia’s number one Dobermann bitch and was awarded by the Dobermann Club of WA Top Show Dog for the year. She also received an invitation to Western Australia’s prestigous 2010 Contest of Winners gala event. On the 13th of November 2010, “Savvy” together with her hander Daryl MacDonald gained the last required points to obtain her Grand Champion title and in doing so became WA’s youngest Dobermann in history to receive this conveted title at the time, which was previously held by “Keno”.

March 2009 saw the arrival of Viper (Vaydee Jesse James) imported from Croatia into Australia. Representing some of Europe’s top lines, including his sire, the top producing Fedor Del Nasi, Viper brings to us a well balanced and stable working temperament, outstanding bone, colouring and great health statistics. We are hopeful and enthusiastic that Viper will pass on his great attributes to his offspring over the years to come.

Late in 2011, two new girls joined the team at home. A stunningly elegant black/rust female by the name of “Sierra” (Champion Bravadobe Lets Get Rocked – AI) and the substantial extroverted and firey red head “Eve” (Champion Bravadobe Would I Lie To You). “Sierra” is a result of an artificial insemination between “Figo” (UK & Irish Champion Supeta’s Enufs Enuf for Cooley) and our own “Kaos” (Champion Bravadobe Pure Kaos (AI) ET). “Eve’s” parents are our import, “Viper” (Vaydee Jesse James) and our top producing dam, “Bliss” (Champion Bravadobe Divine Destiny). Almost opposites, these two girls will contribute significantly to the future of Bravadobe Dobermanns.

Oska shadow“Oska” (Champion Bravadobe In The Name Of Kaos ET) sired by 2011 Perth Royal Show Runner Up Best in Show winner “Kaos” (Champion Bravadobe Viva Las Vegas ET) and out of “Kaos” (Champion Bravadobe Pure Kaos – AI) is the latest addition at Bravadobe. This cheeky and substantial black/rust male is line breed on “Cherry” (Champion Bravadobe Cherry Bomb WAC), one of our most influencial and top producing dam’s in addition to having some of Australia’s and America’s renowned Dobermanns of note infused in his pedigree.  “Oska” at the age of two years was already a multi best in group and runner up best in all breeds show winner.

2014 has been an exciting year with a couple of exciting additions to the Bravadobe family.  First to arrive was “Carter” (Supreme Champion Parima Ghost Rider At Bravadobe (AI) IMP NZ) sired by American Grand Champion Cambria’s Omen by the beautiful and stunning “Orca” (New Zealand Champion Martyn Riding The Wave At Parima).  Our very outgoing and exuberant youngster hit the show scene with a bang winning best baby in show at the Western Classic which was the start of a very successful journey to his Australian Championship title which he achieved at the tender age of 9 months.  Along the way “Carter” achieved 1 best in group, 3 runner up best in groups, 24 classes in group and 16 classes in show.   At the conclusion of the 2014 show year, “Carter” had been awarded two all breeds best in shows against strong competition and was WA’s number one all breeds Rising Star as awarded by Dogz Online.  2015 has seen Carter win another two all breeds best in shows, including one under an international Dobermann specialist and one best in specialty show at the Dobermann Club of Victoria’s 52nd championship show under specialist judge Mr Michael Yates from Queensland.  At not even two years of age, he has also received two reserve challenges at specialties and won best of breeds under strong competition on the east coast, including runner up best in group at the 2015 Spring Fair, best of breed and runner up best in group at the 2015 Perth Royal Show and Best in Show at the 2015 Dobermann Club of Victoria Specialty.  Carter borderAfter just turning two years of age “Carter” became the youngest Dobermann in West Australian history to obtain a SUPREME championship title and we couldn’t be prouder as he has done it in style winning at some of the biggest shows in the country against strong competition. We are extremely grateful to Samantha Hedges and Peter Qi for allowing this eye catching and head turning youngster to make his home with us in Australia.  2016 has started with a bang with Carter winning numerous All Breeds Best in Shows, including the Dogs West Classic and the March Madness weekend under a panel of international and Australian judges,  but the highlight of the year so far, was being  recognized amongst WA’s finest as the winner the 2015 West Australian Kennel Club’s Contest of Winners gala evening by a panel of five judges.  We were also thrilled to have Carter’s amazing show career recognised at the 2016 Canine Association of WA AGM, were he was also awarded Dogs West Top Show Dog of the Year for 2015/2016 and also finished the year being WA’s NUMBER ONE All Breeds Dog (ALL SYSTEMS) as well as Australia’s No. 1 Dobermann Breed Challenge Winner (DOLPS) and Australia’s No. 1 Dobermann Breed Tournament Winner (DNA).  Carter has had an amazing start to 2017, as he represented WA as the #1 dog at the Top Dog Australia Grand Final held in Canberra and was awarded runner up best dog in the country by a panel of international judges.  On the 25th of March 2017, Carter created history when he was awarded Winner of Winners at the 2016 Contest of Winners event, being the only dog to win this award two years in succession.   2017 saw Carter win many All Breeds Best in Shows in addition to the Victoria Women’s Club winner of the Battle of the Ashes.  Despite his limited showing last year due to personal commitments, “Carter” finished the year as the No. 3 All Breeds Show Dog for WA, No. 1 Utility Dog for WA and No. 2 Dobermann nationally.  Still only a youngster, we are extremely excited in regards to what the future holds for “Carter” both in the ring and as an invaluable part of our future breeding program.

November 2014 saw the arrival of our gorgeous girl “Baci” (Champion Martyn Scream My Name At Bravadobe (AI) IMP NZ) from our good friends Martyn, Lisa and Cassidy Slade from Martyn Dobermanns in New Zealand.  “Baci” is sired by the stunning “Chance” (American Champion Tiburon’s Collateral Damage) and her dam is the gorgeous “Karma” (New Zealand Champion Martyn Karmah Going To Get You).   Already a multi best in group, multi best of breed and class in show winner before the age of 12 months, the future for this affectionate but mischievous girl is looking very bright.  Even though Baci was not campaigned for the full year in 2016, she was still awarded NUMBER ONE Dobermann Bitch – Breed Challenge Winner for Australia (DOLPS) and NUMBER ONE Dobermann Bitch – Breed Tournament Competition for Australia (TDA).  After a break from the show ring for maternal duties, Baci hit the ground running with numerous best in groups (which is no mean feat when showing against her kennel mate Carter) and in March 2018 was awarded Best in Show at the Western Australian Kennel Club all breeds championship show.

In December 2014 we welcomed a very special litter between “Eve”(Champion Bravadobe Would I Lie To You ET) and “Miles” (American Champion Wyndem’s Knights Quest) which produced 15 beautiful babies by way of artificial insemination.   From this litter, which is very close to the mating that produced the last Australian Dobermann National winner “Keno” and his three Australian Champion litter mates, we have kept two of these gorgeous puppies in co-ownership;  a beautiful girl who we name “Ziva” (Champion Bravadobe Quest For Truth – AI) with Julie & Erin Henville who will be campaigned in NSW and her brother “Argus” (Bravadobe Quest For Glory – AI) who is co-owned by our close friend Tegan Hogg and will be shown on the West Australian show circuit.

April 2017 saw the arrival of one very special girl into the Bravadobe family, a beautiful red head by the name of Sizzle.  This gorgeous girl  is the culmination of over 10 years of breeding and five generations of Bravadobe’s finest, heavily intertwined with some of the great dogs from America.   Sizzle “Bravadobe Too Hot For U (AI) IMP NZ” is sired by the handsome Damien “American Grand Champion Cambria’s Omen” and her mother is our own Ziva “Champion Bravadobe Quest For Truth (AI)”.   The reason we are so excited with Sizzle’s litter, the first we have had in over a year, is that her sire Damien is the producer of our very own Carter “Supreme Champion Parima Ghost Rider At Bravadobe (AI) IMP NZ” (WA’s #1 Dog All Breeds, All Systems for 2016).  In addition Ziva’s sire, Miles “American Champion Wyndem’s Knights Quest” has already produced from two litters for Bravadobe multiple champions, an American champion and a Supreme champion including the last Australian Dobermann National Best in Show winner, Keno “Supreme Champion Bravadobe Pure Anarchy (AI) ET WAC”.   This gorgeous effervescent cheeky girl will be turning heads in the show ring in no time with her beautiful balance and effortless movement, so no wonder we are excited about what the future holds for our Sizzle and her litter mates that are going to be shown across two different countries.
